Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing seeks a Die Setter for progressive, secondary and transfer presses at Plant 4 in Holland, MI. You will set up dies, load tools, and ensure stamped parts meet quality specs, while following JES sheets and the Quality Policy.

The role requires exposure to 200–2500 ton presses, reading work instructions, and adherence to safety, other procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. Shifts include Monday–Wednesday nights and Thursday nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with metal stamping and die setting preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and JES sheets.

Responsibilities

• Set up and change dies on progressive, secondary and transfer presses.
• Operate presses safely and efficiently to meet quality standards.
• Identify and document non-conformities; participate in corrective actions.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety in work area and shared spaces.
• Assist with setup, load dies/tools, and inspection of stamped parts.
• Follow quality policy and work instructions; support continuous improvement.

Able to explain how this position impacts customer satisfaction and contributes to fulfilling the Quality Policy· Understands the overview of Quality Management System and document architecture· Understands and explain all relevant quality policy, procedures, and work instructions associated with this job description· Understands and is able to identify Quality Management System and implementation; Document and/or log all non-conformity· Participates in preventative actions where appropriate. Conducts corrective actions and perform problem solving analysis and reporting as required· Conducts housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space· Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job description· Participates in needs analysis and attends and performs the requirements of scheduled training and educational programs identified for this position· Participates, as requested, in independent objective auditing activities and supports company continuous improvement activities· Stops work on processes as appropriate and contains suspect or defective material or services to avoid further processing.· Positions, and safely clamps Dies/tools, feed guides, and Guarding.· Threads metal strip from coils through pinch rollers, and/or loads Dies/tools with metal blanks· Installs part ejection, and air blasts/external oilers.· Installs any and all die protection devicesWhen and Where:This will be a X Shift; Monday – Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM &Thursday: 6:00 PM – 12:00 AMposition located at our Plant 4 in Holland, MI.What You Need to Have:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMetal Stamping experience preferredDie setting in stamping preferredLock out tag out experience preferredPress operating experience preferredHas high standards of performance for self.Takes responsibility for actions, results, and mistakes.
