Job summary

Westlake is seeking a Mold Technician in Michigan responsible for removing and installing tool molds in plastic injection molding machines and setting up machines for efficient production. You will position and align molds, connect water, hydraulics, and air feeds, and adjust controls to match prescribed setups.

The role requires attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with die setting procedures preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Remove and install molds in plastic injection molding machines.
• Set up machines for continuous production by aligning mold and connecting water, hydraulics, and air feeds as required.
• Adjust machine control settings to prescribed setup.
• Shut down molding machines by performing proper lockout procedures and purging material.
• Complete tool change reports and production logs accurately and timely.
• Work toward continuous improvement of all mold change and machine setup procedures.
• Comply with Employee Conduct policies and the Employee Handbook.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
