Job summary

Midway Products Group, INC is seeking a Second Shift Die Set Technician to maintain die setting duties, start presses from shutdown, and initiate production runs. You will perform quality inspections and set up dies in transfer presses to support production schedules.

You will adjust gripper and coil feed, train part packers, and work with maintenance and tool teams to minimize downtime while adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.

• Must be mechanically inclined and initiative to drive improvement to meet established performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Operate transfer presses and initiate production runs to a continuous mode.
• Perform die setting, setups, and changes in transfer presses according to the production schedule.
• Conduct First Off/Last Off inspections and follow Inspection Strategy procedures.
• Transport, install, and align dies on the bolster; train part packers as needed.
• Make gripper adjustments, end stop adjustments and optimize coil feed to minimize downtime.
• Document issues with dies and presses; communicate with Press Improvement Teams.
• Collaborate with Press Improvement Team, Tool & Die and Maintenance to optimize press utilization and repairs.

Job description

Second Shift

Maintains the responsibilities and essential functions of a Die Set Technician.

Will have complete knowledge of die setting, press parameters, and the ability to start the press from a complete shutdown condition.

Initiates press production runs to a continuous mode.

Performs quality inspection checks, First Off/Last Off inspections and all "Inspection Strategy" procedures.

Transports dies, performs die sets up and changes dies in transfer press according to the production schedule.

Performs all rail setups, and make sure they are hooked up correctly and working properly.

Installs, positions, and aligns dies on the bolster.

Trains part packers on how to perform their job properly.

Must be able to maximize each job/die when it is in the press.

Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through documented Team discussions. Improvement events will be used to optimize utilization of the transfer presses.

Must document all issues with a die and/or press in detail, and communicate those issues to the Press Improvement Teams.

Works intimately with the Press Improvement Team, Tool & Die and Maintenance to optimize press utilization, changeover time, press repairs and die repairs.

Required to make gripper adjustments, end stop adjustments and adjust coil feed parameters to minimize press downtime.

Performs small maintenance repairs, as needed.

Strictly adheres to all safety regulations, according to company policy.

Establish and maintain excellent housekeeping habits.

Performs other essential functions as assigned.
