Job description

Third Shift Die Set Technician

Maintains the responsibilities and essential functions of a Die Set Technician.

Has complete knowledge of die setting, press parameters, and the ability to start the press from a complete shutdown condition.

Initiates press production runs to a continuous mode.

Performs quality inspection checks, First Off/Last Off inspections, and all "Inspection Strategy" procedures.

Transports dies, performs die setups, and changes dies in transfer presses according to the production schedule.

Performs all rail setups, ensuring they are hooked up correctly and functioning properly.

Installs, positions, and aligns dies on the bolster.

Trains part packers on how to perform their jobs properly.

Maximizes each job/die when it is in the press.

Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through documented team discussions. Uses improvement events to optimize transfer press utilization.

Documents all issues with dies and presses in detail and communicates these issues to the Press Improvement Teams.

Works closely with the Press Improvement Team, Tool & Die, and Maintenance to optimize press utilization, changeover time, and repairs.

Makes gripper adjustments, end stop adjustments, and adjusts coil feed parameters to minimize press downtime.

Performs small maintenance repairs as needed.

Strictly adheres to all safety regulations according to company policy.

Establishes and maintains excellent housekeeping habits.

Performs other essential functions as assigned.
