YKK AP America Inc. seeks a Die Correction Assistant to learn and support the repair, maintenance and correction of extrusion dies to ensure high-quality output at the targeted rate.

You will gain hands-on experience with dies, feeders, portholes, and tooling, while documenting corrections and die history. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to industry tolerances in a manufacturing environment.

• Will learn die repair and modification methods for dies, feeders, portholes and tooling to produce high-quality extrusions.
• Will learn regular maintenance: caustic cleaning, polishing, nitriding, and inspection for tooling stress cracks and wear.
• Understand industry tolerance, print reading, and use of precision measuring instruments.
• Keep detailed records of die corrections and die history.
• Compile, store, and retrieve production data for die ratio and efficiency gains.
• Support the die polishing process.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties within the Die Correction Department.

Responsibilities

• Repair and modify dies, feeders, portholes and support tooling to produce high-quality extrusions.
• Apply routine maintenance including caustic cleaning, polishing and nitriding; inspect tooling for wear.
• Learn tolerance requirements, read prints, and use precision measuring instruments.
• Keep detailed records of die corrections and die history.
• Compile, store and retrieve production data for die efficiency gains.
• Support the die polishing process.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties within the Die Correction Department.
