Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on Tooling and Die Shop Associate in the Portland area to manage tooling for presses, stage dies for cleaning, and support aluminum extrusion operations. You will lift 50–75 lb parts, operate lifting devices, and follow precise work instructions to sustain quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, strong mechanical aptitude, and a safety-conscious mindset. Prior experience in a die shop or industrial manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with precision tooling.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and setup documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in aluminum extrusion, die shop operations, or industrial manufacturing (preferred).
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and lifting devices (preferred).
• Knowledge of extrusion dies, tooling assembly, and die handling practices (preferred).
• Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Pull all correct tooling for press schedules and supply them to the correct press/location.
• Remove all used tooling from presses and separate tooling for caustic/storage.
• Load used tooling into boil out tanks.
• Remove boiled out tooling from caustic tanks, rinse, and dry.
• Shot blast all dies from caustic cleaning and transport them into the die repair shop.
• Manipulate and control steel weighing 50–75 lbs through pulling, pushing, and lifting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
