Job summary

100Hires, Inc. seeks a Die Polisher to support the Forge department in maintaining and repairing all tooling and dies for Manual and Automatic Upsetter machines.

You will assemble, recondition, bench, change, and clean tooling, document measurements, and ensure conformance using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. You’ll inspect dies for cracks, salvage wear, decipher blueprints, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following plant rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–3 months related experience or training preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.
• Experience using measurement devices such as micrometers and calipers.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
• Experience with crane/hoist operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, recondition, bench, change, and clean tooling for manual/automatic upsetters.
• Document process measurements using required forms.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specs.
• Resurface and clean dies/tooling with hand tools and grinders.
• Inspect dies for cracks, finish quality, and spec conformance.
• Measure die openings and assess wear for salvage decisions.
• Analyze defective parts and recommend changes or modifications.
• Interpret blueprints and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow safety rules and plant regulations; perform other duties as assigned.
