Job summary

The Die Machinist Apprentice at SIFCO Industries in Cleveland, OH will be trained to perform die sinking, die repair, die control, horizontal mill operations and CNC operations as part of a comprehensive trainee program. Responsibilities include planning machining, setting up tools, measuring parts, repairing dies, maintaining records, and handling materials.

A high school diploma or technical certification is required, with related experience welcome; candidates should have basic math, reading

Qualifications

High school diploma, Associates Degree or equivalent in a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of one year of related experience in a machine or die shop and/or training.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Calculates dimensions, plans machining, layout and assembly operations.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, milling machines, drill press and grinder.
Design and repair dies to specifications and verifies conformance of machine parts to specifications.
Keeps record of documentation / updates system as needed for each task.
