Job Purpose
- The Die Cutting Supervisor at JOHNS BYRNE CO is responsible for overseeing the die cutting operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves managing a team of operators, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the die cutting team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Plan and coordinate die cutting operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Monitor the quality of die cut products, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain high standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other departments such as production, quality control, and maintenance to optimize workflow and resolve any issues.
- Train and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, downtime, and maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Manage inventory of die cutting materials and supplies, ensuring availability for uninterrupted operations.
Qualifications
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in die cutting operations or a related manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of supervisory or leadership experience within a production or manufacturing setting.
- Experience with various die cutting machinery and techniques, including but not limited to rotary, flatbed, and laser die cutting.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of die cutting processes and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving production goals.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and other departments.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to production management and quality assurance.
