Job summary

Mill Rock Packaging Inc. is hiring a Die Cutter Operator for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM ET) at our South Windsor, CT facility. This is a full-time, on-site role in a fast-paced packaging production environment with overtime potential.

Training is provided on site as needed. You will operate, set up, and maintain die cutting machines, document orders, and coordinate with production teams to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience or equivalent combination will be considered.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety and operational instructions, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability to read and interpret product layouts and production specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate a die cutting machine.
  • Stage materials for the next job on press and monitor sheets during run.
  • Transport die-cut loads to Gluing and Stripping staging areas and assist in process improvements.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area organized.
  • Follow all safety policies and food safety procedures.

In addition, we offer a shift differential for our 2nd shift team members. This is a fast-paced role where you will leverage your problem-solving abilities and respond quickly to continually changing priorities as you coordinate multiple projects. **WE TRAIN ON SITE!****A Day in the Life**3. Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a die cutting machine.4. Stage all materials for next job on press (printed sheets, cutting die, plate and blanking tools).5. Monitor sheets while job is running.6. Transport die cut loads to Gluing and Stripping staging areas.7. Conduct routine maintenance.8. Help maintain organization of plates and cutting dies.9. Assist in process improvement/waste reduction techniques.10. Follow all departmental policies, safety rules and procedures.11. Follow all good manufacturing policies as they relate to food safety12. Perform other job duties as assigned.**This is a full-time, on-site position on second shift (3:00PM-11:00PM Eastern Time Monday-Friday). However, changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours, or the working of additional, overtime hours. Every effort will be made to give advance notice of any permanent changes.****Capabilities & Experience:****Basic Qualifications*** High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.* Ability to read and comprehend safety and operational instructions, procedures, and policies.* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.* Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions and operational procedures.* Basic computer skills are necessary to read work instructions, record job data, follow work schedules, and communicate electronically via email.* Attention to detail.* Mechanical and technical aptitude.* Ability to work overtime as needed.* Ability to interpret product layouts and production specifications* Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and measurements with speed and accuracy.Preferred QualificationsMill Rock teammates come from diverse backgrounds that help us innovate new possibilities daily.
