Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have completed Step-up/new operator training check list including attendance & quality targets.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Must be able to follow directions of a supervisor.
• Be familiar with hydraulics and pneumatics or willingness to learn.
• Be familiar with the operations of PLCs or willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate equipment within a die cast cell to ensure quality production.
• Independently troubleshoot equipment or quality problems produced by the machine.
• Meet customer production schedules and achieve uptime targets.
• Collaborate with maintenance, tool room and engineering on improvements.

Primary Purpose of Position

To work within the Die Cast Department to efficiently and effectively set-up and operate equipment within a die cast cell to ensure a quality product is produced and delivered that consistently satisfies or exceeds our customer's expectation.

Responsibilities

• Every employee has the responsibility to comply with all safety rules, quality procedures and processes established by MPA
• Independently troubleshoot equipment or quality problems produced by the machine
• Assist maintenance, tool room and engineering personnel in the repair and continuous improvement activities
• Meet customer production schedules
• Achieve and maintain uptime targets
• Achieve and maintain acceptable scrap levels

Education, experience, skills

• Must have completed Step-up/new operator training check list including attendance & quality targets
• Must have regular and punctual attendance
• Must be able to follow directions of a supervisor
• Must be cooperative with other employees
• Must be quality conscious with an emphasis on operating to the Work Instruction
• Be familiar with hydraulics and pneumatics or willingness to learn.
• Be familiar with the operations of the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or willing to learn.
• Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing, effectively
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Ability to communicate, educate and coach new team members
• Fluent in English
