Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Pittsburgh is seeking a capable operator to run high-precision diamond flycut machines in a clean room environment, reading drawings and following QA procedures.

No prior experience required; we train you. Shifts include Afternoon and Midnight with differential. You will maintain documentation, monitor setups, and ensure safety and quality at all times. This is a hands-on role with growth opportunities in a global leader in lasers and engineered materials.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 0–2 years manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and machine plano and cylinder mirrors and lens components per drawings and specs on a diamond flycut machine.
• Ensure proper handling to prevent part damage.
• Measure critical dimensions prior to processing to verify against specifications.
• Control and verify part thickness and figure; ensure parts meet specs.
• Set up machines correctly for the job and materials.
• Prepare tool setups for various materials and balance flywheels as needed.
• Maintain process notes and QA documentation; record variations.
• Work independently to troubleshoot minor machine problems.
• Complete production and quality documents; report incidents as required.
• Understand QA procedures for flycut components and follow safety practices.
