Responsibilities

• Operates hemodialysis machines to provide dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Completes patient-related activities within scheduled time periods with minimal supervision.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to the Registered Nurse during shifts.
• Assists colleagues and adapts work schedule to meet unit staffing needs and patient care requirements.
• Monitors and documents dialysis treatment parameters (vital signs, weight, blood flow rate, arterial/venous pressures).
• Participates in quality improvement processes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Delivers safe direct patient care following the plan of care and unit protocols.
• Engages in ongoing education and shares patient teaching with patients and families.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Lifts and moves patients/equipment as required by the job.
