Job summary

Select Medical in West Allis, Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Dialysis (HD) Technician for PRN shifts. You will work as part of the hemodialysis team, supporting nurses and performing treatment prep, cannulation, and patient monitoring in a post-ICU care setting.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, safety checks, documenting vital signs, and ensuring proper disinfection between sessions. Prior dialysis experience and BLS/CCHT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and six months’ dialysis tech experience.
• CCHT certification and CMS/state/national certification required.
• Licensure and state training as applicable.
• Must pass Ishihara color test and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy under supervision of RNs.
• Prepare delivery system, dialysate bath, dialyzer, and perform alarm tests.
• Set up Tablo device and enter dialysis prescription.
• Monitor vascular access, cannulation, and report issues to HD RN.
• Record vital signs and treatment data in the medical record.
• Perform machine safety checks and monitor alarms.
• Disassemble and disinfect dialysis equipment and maintain machinery.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and manage supplies efficiently.
• Communicate patient concerns to HD RN and maintain patient-centered care.

Education

High School diploma or G.E.D.

6 months’ experience as hemodialysis technician

CCHT

CMS approved state and/or national certification

Licensure, education and training per state requirements

Ishihara Color Blindness Test
