Job summary

Select Medical in West Allis, WI is seeking a Dialysis (HD) Technician to join our team on a PRN basis. You will work with RNs to provide safe dialysis therapy, handle setup, surveillance, and documentation for each patient’s treatment while maintaining compliance with policy and state/federal regulations.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork, and continuous improvement within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. and at least 6 months’ experience as hemodialysis technician.
• CCHT required.
• CMS approved state/national certification required
• Licensure per state requirements
• Ishihara color blindness test required
• BLS required

Responsibilities

• Functions as part of the hemodialysis team providing dialysis therapy under RN supervision.
• Prepare delivery system, dialysate bath, dialyzer and perform mandatory alarm tests.
• Set up Tablo device and enter dialysis prescription.
• Evaluate vascular access and report findings to HD RN.
• Cannulate vascular access and report difficulties to HD RN as directed.
• Obtain and document pre, intra, and post-treatment vitals and weight.
• Monitor machines and safety alarms per policy.
• Report changes to HD RN and document interventions.
• Ensure safety alarms are reviewed and managed as per policy.
• Perform dialysis water testing and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and proper waste disposal.
