Job summary

Select Medical in Milwaukee is seeking a Dialysis (HD) Technician to join our inpatient post-ICU care team. You will perform safe dialysis therapy under RN supervision, manage dialysis delivery systems, monitor patients, and ensure infection control and safety policies are followed.

Strong emphasis on patient-centered care and teamwork. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with dialysis experience, plus CCHT and BLS; CMS certification and state licensure compliance are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and at least 6 months of hemodialysis technician experience.
• CCHT certification required.
• CMS certification per state and/or national requirements.
• Meets state requirements for licensure, education and training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for dialysis treatment and document results.
• Set up delivery system, dialysate bath, dialyzer and run mandatory alarm tests.
• Enter provider dialysis prescriptions into Tablo and monitor safety alarms.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and report to the HD RN.
• Cannulate vessels and report any difficulties to the HD RN as needed.
• Monitor vital signs and patient condition; document in medical records.
• Disinfect dialysis equipment and maintain a clean environment between treatments.
• Communicate patient concerns to the HD RN and maintain a customer service attitude.
