A typical day for a Dialysis Technician may include:
- Providing direct patient care and managing the care of the pre, intra, and post-procedural patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse according to hospital procedures and standards of care
- Performing hemodialysis procedures safely and efficiently while observing and reporting the patient's response to interventions and treatments to the RN
- Recording vital signs and bedside glucose testing results accurately in the patient's chart
- Anticipating patient needs through frequent rounds, observation, and compassionate communication to promote a supportive environment
- Cleaning and disinfecting hemodialysis machines, chairs, and beds with a bleach solution between patient treatments to maintain strict infection control
- Disinfecting and cleaning the RO system, jugs, and performing essential environmental safety checks of the unit
- Setting up flow-sheet logs for water testing and equipment maintenance to ensure regulatory compliance
- Recognizing and correcting problems involving dialyzer leaks or defects in arterial or venous lines, and performing necessary steps to place the R/O system on bypass while informing the Nurse Manager
- Collecting and accurately labeling specimens, ensuring timely delivery to the appropriate laboratory department
- Ordering and stocking supplies at the end of each shift to ensure continuous readiness and an organized unit inventory
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment where professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care are shared priorities

To be considered for this Dialysis Technician opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:
- This position offers a Full-Time schedule located at Cranford Dialysis (205 Birchwood Ave, Cranford, NJ 07016). The operational hours require flexibility to meet patient needs, with shifts scheduled M-W-F from 05:00 AM - 08:30 PM and T-TH-S from 05:00 AM - 4:00 PM, including the ability to work rotating Saturdays.
- You are a Certified Dialysis Technician (or must obtain certification as mandated by CMS within eighteen (18) months of your date of hire).
- You possess at least one (1) year of Dialysis work experience (required). One year of nursing assistant experience is also preferred.
- You hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification, or have the ability to obtain it within three (3) months of employment in this position.
- You have the demonstrated ability to perform all core clinical competencies required for employment in this position, alongside excellent verbal and written communication skills.
