Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 track. This role provides and coordinates clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients within the End Stage Kidney Disease program, under supervision, with leadership and teaching opportunities in time.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVNs/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, document in the medical record, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for assigned patients during hemodialysis.
• Document data and update the plan of care in the medical record.
• Educate patient and family about care and treatment options.
• Coordinate dialysis therapy with the Interdisciplinary Team and other staff.
• Administer medications per approved protocol and document effectiveness.
• Respond to emergencies as needed.
• Supervise and train support staff as assigned.
• Ensure proper lab collection and processing procedures.
