Job summary

Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas is hiring a Registered Nurse for Hemodialysis. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborating with the care team, and advocacy for patients and families.

You will follow established nursing models and participate in education and mentorship initiatives. The position requires an RN license, a Bachelor’s degree, ACLS and BLS within 30 days of starting, and at least 5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS) required within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN – Registered Nurse credential.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5 years experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and document care in the medical record.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and proactively addressing needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology.
