Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with dialysis experience to join our inpatient team. You will provide critical dialysis care, administer medications, and perform pre-treatment assessments to support patient safety and outcomes.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work flexible shifts in a high-acuity hospital setting. RN licensure and BLS are required; experience with Cerner is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• RN license required.
• Dialysis nursing experience preferred.
• Inpatient dialysis experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical dialysis nursing care ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Administer medications, blood, and blood products as ordered by the physician.
• Perform pre-treatment patient assessments and communicate findings to physicians.
• Maintain thorough nursing notes after each dialysis session and coordinate with care team.
• Ensure proper equipment setup, sterilization, and aseptic technique.

Job Description

• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers, demonstrating respect and developing positive working relationships.
• Collaborates with co-workers and other departments to assist with patient flow and ensure timely procedural care.
• Considers safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice when delivering nursing services and ordering supplies.
• Rinses, primes, and positions equipment, attaches tubing, prepares dialysate, calibrates alarms, sets monitors, and performs system checks.
• Provides critical acute nursing care to ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being.
• Performs patient assessments prior to treatment and proceeds based on assessments and physician’s orders.
• Obtains blood samples and other specimens as indicated or ordered.
• Administer medications, blood, and blood products as ordered by the physician and according to policies.
• Assess and provide care for patients related to blood pressure, weight changes, access patency, lab values, dialysate composition, and fluid flows.
• Complete nursing notes after every dialysis treatment and communicate with the physician and primary nurse as needed.
• Clean and dress access sites and other wounds using appropriate aseptic techniques.
• Participate in patient and family teaching regarding dialysis treatment and dietary recommendations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Medical/surgical, ICU, CCU, and ER experience [Preferred]
