Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a dialysis professional to support safe and effective treatment under licensed supervision. You will set up and operate hemodialysis machines, monitor patients, and contribute to a clean, safe clinical environment.

Responsibilities include patient greetings, vital signs, vascular access assessment, and adherence to state and federal regulations. The role emphasizes teamwork and continuous quality improvement within the unit.

Qualifications

• Assist other health care members in patient education regarding adequacy measures such as Online Clearance Monitoring (OLC), Adequacy Monitoring Program (AMP), Urea Kinetic Modeling (UKM), and disease processes.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing since their last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency, perform cannulation, and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight; perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment.
• Initiate dialysis treatment according to orders, including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD).
• Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed or directed by physician order.
• Monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy.
• Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion; document all relevant steps.
• Discontinue dialysis per established procedures and evaluate patient prior to termination of venous access.
• Obtain hemostasis and apply dressings.
• Evaluate the patient prior to discharge.
