Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Hackettstown, NJ seeks a dialysis technician to join the health care team under licensed nurse supervision. You will assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patient status, perform cannulation, administer heparin as allowed, take vital signs, and ensure safe, accurate documentation and a clean environment.

Qualifications

• Provide patient-specific education on dialysis adequacy measures when appropriate (e.g., AMP/UKM).
• Assist in maintaining safe and clean environment and monitor patient status during treatments.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and check wellbeing before treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and perform cannulation as delegated.
• Record vitals, weight, and treatment parameters accurately.
• Initiate dialysis per orders (QB/QD) and manage UF goals.
• Monitor patient response and intervene as prescribed.
• Document treatment sheets and progress notes.
• Report changes to RN or supervisor and ensure alarms are enabled.
• Assist in training direct care staff and discharge duties.
