Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States seeks a Patient Care Technician to join the dialysis health care team under RN supervision. You will assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and help maintain a safe, clean working environment in accordance with policy.

Key duties include monitoring vital signs, evaluating vascular access, performing cannulation as delegated, documenting treatment data, and supporting infection control and CQI initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
• Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in education of patients on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM).
• Welcome assigned patients and assess wellbeing after treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and perform cannulation as delegated.
• Initiate dialysis per orders including QB and QD.
• Record vital signs, weight and treatment parameters.
• Document and report treatment data and changes to RN or supervisor.
• Maintain infection control and environmental cleanliness.

Education
