Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks a Patient Care Technician to support dialysis treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in Nevada. You will help with setup, cannulation, vital signs, and documentation, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, evaluating vascular access, managing treatment parameters, and contributing to education and patient satisfaction as part of the care team.

Qualifications

• Experience in documenting vital signs and treatment parameters in dialysis settings.
• Familiarity with dialysis terminology and patient education on adequacy measures.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and monitor wellbeing after each treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and support cannulation and heparin administration as delegated.
• Record pre- and post-treatment vitals and weight; document treatment details.
• Initiate dialysis per orders including QB and QD; monitor and intervene as needed.
• Ensure safety alarms and equipment procedures are followed; report changes to RN or supervisor.
• Document all treatment parameters and progress notes; prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Assist with staff training, orientation, and ongoing competency assessments.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the clinical environment and participate in CQI activities.
