Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a patient care technician to join the dialysis team under RN supervision. You will assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patients during treatment and document vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters.

You will educate patients on adequacy measures and participate in CQI activities to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities include evaluating vascular access, managing pre/post-treatment assessments, maintaining a clean

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
• Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards

Responsibilities

• Assist in education of patients on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM).
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation.
• Initiate and monitor dialysis treatment per orders including QB/QD.
• Record vital signs, weight and treatment parameters; document appropriately.
• Ensure safety alarms and infection control practices are followed.
• Assist in training direct care staff under supervision of a nurse.
