Job summary

Kings County Hospital Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks a Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician to support dialysis procedures in outpatient ESRD facilities. Under direct RN supervision, you will prepare the dialysis machine, prime the dialyzer, monitor treatments and document vital signs and weights.

You will collaborate with the RN and care team to ensure patient safety, assist with cannulation, maintain supplies, and participate in QA/PI initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician training program.
• Certification within 18 months of hire (CMS/BONENT/NNCO preferred).
• Facility-based BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dialysis machine for treatment and document findings.
• Monitor treatment and maintain machine parameters; record vitals.
• Ensure adequate supplies in the treatment area.
• Collaborate with RN on treatment plan and patient safety.
• Assist with cannulation and post-treatment set-up.

Education

CMS/BONENT/NNCO certification within 18 months

BLS certification / Basic Life Support
