Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care Knoxville is seeking a Dialysis Technician to operate hemodialysis machines and support safe, effective treatment under supervision. You will perform pre/post dialysis checks, manage patient data, monitor vital signs, and assist with vascular access care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to infection control, and participation in CQI activities to improve patient outcomes. Training is provided; CMS/state requirements must be met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required; CMS/state certification as applicable in the state.
• Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing patients for dialysis and monitor vital signs during treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and perform cannulation as delegated or allowed by state law.
• Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders and document parameters.
• Record pretreatment and posttreatment data and monitor patient response.
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure equipment is disinfected between treatments.
• Assist with CQI activities and documentation as part of the care team.
