Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an Area Float position to join the dialysis health care team, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist in setup/operation of hemodialysis machines and support a clean, safe work environment, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes patient education, safety, and collaboration with RN staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Dialysis experience required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing since their last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and assist with cannulation and heparin administration as allowed by state law.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification.
• Initiate dialysis per prescribed orders and monitor patient response to therapy.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and disinfect dialysis machines and surrounding areas between treatments.
