Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a dedicated dialysis patient care technician to join our team. You will assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patients during treatment, and maintain a clean and compliant environment.

The role emphasizes patient education, accurate data recording, and collaboration with RNs to ensure high-quality care and safety for patients undergoing dialysis.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused patient care and safety
• Ability to monitor and record patient vitals and responses
• Follows CKD dialysis protocols and infection control policies

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assess wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and data.
• Initiate dialysis per orders; adjust QB and QD as prescribed.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and report changes to RN.
• Maintain clean, safe dialysis environment and prepare lab specimens.
• Document treatment details on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Support CQI activities and infection control measures.
