Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Summit, Illinois, seeks a dialysis technician to support safe, effective dialysis therapy under direct supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist in setting up and operating hemodialysis machines and monitor patients throughout treatment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
• Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards.
• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred.
• Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, weight, and response to dialysis therapy.
• Evaluate vascular access and perform cannulation as delegated.
• Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments per prescribed orders and document actions.
• Record and review treatment data and ensure nursing signatures are on charts.
• Maintain infection control practices and environmental cleanliness.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under nurse supervision.
• Complete CQI activities and ensure accurate documentation of treatments.
