Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the Miami area seeks a Float Patient Care Technician to support dialysis treatments under direct RN supervision. You will assist with machine setup, patient vitals, documentation, and safety checks.

Responsibilities include reporting incidents, maintaining clean work areas, and participating in quality improvement activities to ensure high standards of patient care across multiple clinics.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with patients and team.
• Must meet CMS/state certification requirements where applicable.
• Ishihara Color Blindness test required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under RN supervision in dialysis suite.
• Report incidents, complaints, or problems to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and participate in QEP/QAI activities.
• Set up and prime dialysis equipment when competency is documented.
• Ensure dialysis machines are properly set up, tested, and safe for use.
• Greet patients, assess well-being, and report concerns to the RN.
• Take pre/post-treatment vitals and record accurately.
• Document treatment data in EMS/ACES patient records.
• Assist with dialysis programming inputs (UF goal, time, Na modeling).
• Monitor alarms and ensure safety standards are met.
• Collect and label specimens; deliver to lab per policy.
• Assess intradialytic issues and intervene per physician orders.
