Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital, part of Duke University Health System, is seeking an experienced RN for Unit 5-1 Medicine in Durham, NC. The role delivers patient-centered nursing care on a 36-bed acute care stepdown unit, with opportunities for certifications, conference participation, and committee involvement.

We offer team-based scheduling with eight-week blocks, a weekend option, and options for relocation assistance based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma program.
• All RN without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program and complete it within seven years of start date.
• Current North Carolina RN licensure and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, and document professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate.
• Support care delivery, maintain equipment and supplies, and ensure a safe environment.
• Participate in performance improvement and professional development activities.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families and coordinate with health care team.
