Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our dialysis health care team. You will provide direct patient care, perform dialysis procedures, monitor treatments and document patient information under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities include teaching patients and families, reporting incidents, and participating in emergency procedures. A state license and CPR certification are required; dialysis experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN).
• Current state licensure.
• One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for assigned patient(s).
• Perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed.
• Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters.
• Report significant information or equipment problems to the supervisor.
• Educate patient and family regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet and medications.
• Initiate basic CPR measures in emergencies related to dialysis treatment.
