Job summary

U.S. Renal Care currently seeks a Dialysis Charge Nurse - RN for in-center supervision and leadership. The role entails coordinating nursing staff during shifts, ensuring dialysis treatment quality, and maintaining compliance with health regulations.

The position emphasizes patient-centered care, anemia management support, and collaboration with physicians and the Medical Director to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services each shift and act as a nursing supervisor.
• Provide daily supervision of staff on duty during operational hours.
• Assist with clinical and operational processes to improve patient health and minimize hospitalizations and missed treatments.
• Demonstrate effective use of supplies and staff labor hours.
• Complete and document monthly review of patient medication profiles; administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Assist physician during patient rounds and transcribe/implement physician orders timely.
• Assist with anemia management and medication protocols as requested.
• Comply with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including practice act requirements.
• Operate within company policies and applicable state and federal laws.
• May provide direct patient care to perform dialysis safely where state regulations permit.
• Respond to emergencies in the clinic and communicate patient assessment results to the physician and team.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with Medical Director and physicians.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team activities for patient assessment and care planning.
• Assist in orientation of new staff as a preceptor or support to preceptors.
• Act as a resource and help update dialysis policies and procedures.
• Assist Administrator in interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and taking disciplinary actions of center staff.
