Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Peoria, IL is seeking a patient care technician to support safe dialysis sessions under RN supervision. The role covers setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitoring patient status, documenting treatments, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

You will participate in CQI activities, assist with education, and ensure accurate reporting of vitals, UF goals, and treatment records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification preferred and may be required.
• Previous patient care experience in hospital or related facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient education regarding adequacy measures where appropriate.
• Welcome patients and assess wellbeing before treatment; monitor vital signs.
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines; adjust treatments per orders and document care.
• Evaluate access patency, assist in cannulation, and manage UF goals and alarms.
• Maintain clean, safe treatment areas and report changes to RN or supervisor.
• Participate in CQI activities and document treatment data accurately.
