Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and monitor treatment.
• Assess patient wellbeing and vital signs during treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access and administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
• Document all treatment data and notify the registered nurse or supervisor of changes.
• Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment and adhere to infection control policies.
• Assist in patient education and transitional care planning when appropriate.
