Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Colton, CA seeks a Dialysis Patient Care Technician to join the renal care team. You will assist in setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, monitor patient response, and ensure safety and hygiene during treatments.

You will evaluate vascular access, record vital signs, and support education for patients. A High School diploma and CPR certification are required, with CMS/state licensing where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification within the required state timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training.
• CPR certification and CPR training as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters.
• Initiate dialysis per prescribed orders and monitor patient response.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure infection control practices.
• Observe patient status, document progress notes, and report changes to RN or supervisor.
• Assist with transitioning care and patient education during treatment.
• Prepare and process laboratory specimens as required.
