Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Walterboro, SC seeks a Dialysis Technician to join the dialysis health care team under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will set up and operate dialysis machines, ensure a safe, clean environment, and participate in CQI activities while supporting patient education and care plans.

The role includes preparing patient charts, monitoring treatment, and adhering to facility policies and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and perform cannulation and heparin administration as delegated.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; document thoroughly.
• Initiate dialysis according to prescribed orders including QB and QD.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis and intervene as prescribed.
• Prepare/print lab requisitions and collect lab specimens as required.
• Clean and disinfect dialysis equipment and surrounding areas between treatments.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under RN supervision.
• Maintain CQI participation and accurate data entry in clinical systems.
