Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a dialysis patient care technician to assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patient status, and maintain a clean, safe treatment environment. You will document treatment data and support CQI activities under RN supervision.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, CMS/state certification, CPR readiness, and prior patient care experience where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• CPR certification completion is required or expected during employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate vascular access and monitor patency; perform cannulation as delegated.
• Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders and monitor patient response.
• Record vital signs and treatment parameters on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with proper identification.
• Maintain infection control practices and keep dialysis areas clean and safe.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under supervision of a nurse.
