Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seeking a Diagnostics Software Engineer in Austin, TX. The role focuses on end-to-end quality of Diagnostics software solutions for AMD Client, Graphics, and Embedded.

You will lead test planning, feature coverage, and pre-silicon validation strategies. The candidate should have significant firmware or software development experience with hardware interaction, deep SoC architecture knowledge, and strong Linux programming ability.

Qualifications

  • Significant firmware or software development experience with hardware interaction.
  • Strong understanding of processors based on SoC architecture.
  • Strong Linux environment programming knowledge including device drivers, user space, shell scripts, GCC/Clang.
  • Rich knowledge of x86 CPU architecture or discrete graphics software development.
  • Experience leading software programs or architecting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end ownership of Diagnostics software solution quality for AMD client and graphics/IPs.
  • Highlight project goals, risks, and requirements to PMs and architects for test plans.
  • Study new features and IPs in next-gen SoCs and train engineers on diagnostic cases.
  • Drive feature coverage and hardware bug capture through diagnostic cases.
  • Own pre-silicon emulation strategy across Simnow, FPGA, and Emulation models.
