Job summary

AMD seeks a diagnostics software engineer to own end-to-end quality of diagnostics for SoC products. You will coordinate across PMs, managers, and IP architects to define test plans, study new features, and lead pre-silicon validation efforts across emulation and FPGA environments.

The role requires strong firmware/software development, deep SoC knowledge, and the ability to guide engineers in root-cause analysis and test coverage improvements.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Significant firmware or software development experience with hardware interaction.
  • Strong understanding of SoC architecture and IP verification.
  • Experience with BIOS, GPU, PCIe, DDR, PMU or RAS firmware is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end quality, coverage and completeness of Diagnostics software for AMD Client, Graphics and Embedded.
  • Highlight goals, risks and requirements to PMs and architects to create the software test plan.
  • Study new features and IPs in next-gen SoC and train engineers on diagnostic cases.
  • Drive feature coverage and hardware bug capture through diagnostic cases.
  • Own the system-level validation methodology, including multi-IP use cases and performance evaluation.
  • Lead pre-silicon emulation strategy across Simnow, FPGA and Emulation models.
