Job summary

Nanopath Inc. is hiring a hands-on assembler to support the assembly, build, and testing of our point-of-care molecular diagnostic platform in Cambridge, MA. You will assemble consumables and reader components, follow documented work instructions, and contribute to pilot production.

Working closely with engineering and quality teams, you will maintain build records, ensure traceability, and help identify improvements for assembly and manufacturability in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience assembling cartridge consumables or microfluidic devices.
• Experience building electromechanical assemblies or instruments.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and basic electrical testing.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams; GD&T is a plus.
• Experience in ISO 13485 or FDA-regulated manufacturing.
• Cleanroom or ESD-safe handling experience is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on assembly in medical device/diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cartridge consumables, including bonding, sealing, and reagent loading, following work instructions.
• Build and integrate electromechanical reader assemblies and subassemblies.
• Perform in-process inspection, functional testing, and troubleshoot cartridges and subsystems; report non-conformances.
• Support builds from prototype to pilot production and provide feedback to engineering on manufacturability.
• Maintain build documentation and traceability; manage parts inventory and incoming inspection.
