Qualifications

  • Completed accredited Radiology Technology Program.
  • Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license and ARRT registry eligibility.
  • Associates Degree in Radiology preferred.
  • BLS certification recommended.
  • At least 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic examinations following department protocols and ACR standards.
  • Maintains ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Enter examinations accurately and document findings for proper charges.
  • Electronically send and store images in PACS and maintain records.
  • Educates patients and families to improve their experience and safety.
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment and coordinate with supervisor to ensure staffing.

Winchester, MA • Winchester Hospital • Full-time • NightWhen you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.Contributes to the Hospital’s mission to care, heal and to excel in service to our community by independently performing radiographic examinations in accordance to department protocols and ACR imaging standards and maintaining safety standards, using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, PACS, and other related medical imaging equipment This professional technologist position will have an impact on quality, safety and the patient experience.Job Description:QUALIFICATIONSEducation Required: Completed accredited Radiology Technology Program and be registry eligibleEducation Preferred: Associates Degree in a Radiology TechnologyExperience Preferred: At least one yearLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONSRequired:Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license and registry eligible for ARRT.Must be obtained ARRT within 12 months of hire.Basic Life SupportJOB FUNCTIONSAs part of the Radiology team, the Radiology Technologist IGreets, escorts, assesses, educates and identifies patients making the patients feel welcomed and comfortable and fulfilling all safety and quality checks, including verifying exam orders.Performs exams utilizing ALARA standards (As Low as Reasonably Acceptable).Completes diagnostic imaging examinations following established exam protocols established by Radiologists.Enters examinations correctly, ensuring accurate and informative documentation and appropriate charges are entered.Electronically sends and stores images and data appropriately in PACS.Maintains all department records and logs to monitor quality and safety in accordance with departmental policies.Maintains a clean and safe work environment presenting the best possible impression of facilities and fostering our culture of safety.Responds to supply and equipment issues timely to ensure optimum operations and equipment quality and long-term equipment maintenance and life.Transports and provides ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.Educates and informs patients and family members throughout the patients’ experience.Communicates effectively with the healthcare team utilizing established handoff procedures.Gives and accepts respectful feedback to enhance teamwork.Minimizes preventable harm events and consistently executes the infection control protocols. Incorporates the Culture of Safety tools in daily practice, adhering to quality and safety guidelines and communicating near-miss or potential risks.Coordinates work schedule with departmental supervisor to maintain adequate staffing levels to meet our patients’ and physicians’ needs.Pay Range:$35.00 – $52.01The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
