Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional imaging under the IR/INR division. You will operate imaging equipment, follow radiation safety protocols, and ensure patient comfort while assisting physicians.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, MARadTech-Radiography license, ART registration, and 3-5 years of related experience. BLS certification and MS Office familiarity are also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in shift coverage and on-call responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records for exams and ensure patient safety and comfort.

This position requires a high level of technical knowledge, skill and the ability to work in close cooperation with members of a team of physicians, nurses and other technical staff. The technologist participates in research projects, inventory management and staff training. Is involved in the evaluation/instruction of new techniques and equipment. The technologist interacts with patients daily and maintains a safe, respectful and comfortable environment for the patient.Job Description:Primary Responsibilities:1. Technologist assists physicians and follows departmental guidelines and protocols in the performance of all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Follows infection control, sterile technique and contrast media protocols. (essential)2. Performs operation of imaging and interventional equipment. Evaluates image quality. (essential)3. Knowledge of and responsible for supply inventory, expiration and stocking. Maintains monthly checks for supply expiration, patient database, eyewash and equipment competencies. (essential)4. Cooperate and assists with shift coverage and on-call responsibilities. (essential)5. Follows departmental guidelines and protocols in the scheduling and documentation of exams (imaging, PACS), maintaining accurate and complete records relative to the examination performed. (essential)6. Will maintain a friendly, respectful manner with patients and is responsive to the patient's physical, psychological and social needs. Explains procedures clearly and concisely. Maintains proper hand hygiene. (essential)7. Will cooperate and assist with cross-training and orientation of other employees and students. (essential)8. Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology required.2. License MARadTech-Radiography required., and Registration RT ART required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.3. 3-5 years related work experience required.4. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.Preferred Qualifications:1. Prefer 2 years of Special Procedure, Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath. Lab. experience.2. Prefer credentialing with ARRT as a Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) technologist.Competencies:1.
