Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an X-ray Technologist to obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations and support patient care in a fast-paced radiology department. Responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting technical factors, and ensuring safe imaging per ALARA standards.

Role requires ARRT certification, NJ license, and basic life support. Per diem shifts include weekends with on-site work in Edison, NJ, and opportunities to contribute to departmental QA and patient safety

Qualifications

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology completed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills (MS Office / Google Suite).

Responsibilities

Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper factors.
Collects information from medical records to prepare scanning protocols.
Adheres to ALARA principles and safe collimation.
Performs portable x-ray exams in patient rooms and ERs.
Identifies patient images with name and MRN# and marks laterality.
Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists with administration when needed.
Performs scheduling duties and other administrative tasks as required.
Lifts and moves patients safely and adheres to department standards.
