Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital in Detroit is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonography ultrasound technologist on a PRN basis. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams under supervision and ensure patient safety and quality imaging.

Qualifications

• Registered in ARDMS or ARRT in Sonography (S).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required by end of orientation.
• Registered in specialty within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identity and reviews the medical record for exam appropriateness.
• Interviews patient to obtain or update medical history and assess risk factors.
• Explains procedure, risks, benefits, and alternatives to the patient.
• Prepares equipment and acquires images per protocol.
• Reviews images and communicates findings to radiologist.
• Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as needed.
• Provides post-care instructions and participates in radiology process improvements.
