Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system within 30 days of hire.
• Possible ARDMS RDMS (Abdomen) or ARDMS OB/GYN certifications.
• ARRT Registration for Sonography (S).
• Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the appropriate exam is performed based on physician's orders and patient history.
• Verifies and enters/selects patient demographics.
• Provides accurate and consistent patient education and explanation of exam.
• Performs ultrasound examinations, tailoring exams based upon findings and most likely diagnosis.
• Updates patient logs and submit billing.
• Ensures operation of equipment and coordinates necessary maintenance.
• Assists with training of student sonographers, residents, and fellows.
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures.
