Job summary

Bayou Bend Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic sonography using ultrasound equipment, locating, evaluating and recording data under supervision of the Medical Director and Radiology Director.

Responsibilities include producing quality images, ensuring patient safety, screening patients, and providing pre-/post-exam education while coordinating scheduling with other departments to minimize patient wait times.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of sonography.
• Active ARDMS or CCI-RCS certification with 1 specialty.
• Exhibits working knowledge of ultrasound equipment and procedures.
• Ability to obtain patient history and explain procedures clearly.

Responsibilities

• Produces ultrasound images to aid in diagnosis.
• Monitors and ensures safety of patient and staff.
• Performs patient screening by using established protocols.
• Operates equipment safely and adheres to departmental policies.
• Provides pre- and post-exam education to patients and family.
