Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Clovis, NM is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams for evaluation by the attending provider. You will prepare rooms, ensure safety, review patient history, and obtain high-quality images per facility protocols.

Required NM Sonography license, ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certification and BLS; associates degree preferred. Competitive hourly pay from $36.41 to $62.00 with benefits and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health science or related field; program graduate preferred.
• New Mexico Sonography License required.
• ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment following safety and infection control protocols.
• Responsible for the safety of the patient during sonographic examination.
• Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
• Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete and medically necessary.
• Evaluate contraindications and patient preparation.
• Communicate with the patient in an understandable manner.
• Position patients and use ergonomically designed scanning techniques.
• Perform the diagnostic sonography examination under supervising provider.
• Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking.
• Refer complex diagnostic questions to the appropriate provider.
• Acquire additional ultrasound imaging as necessary for optima results.
• Document limitations to the examination.
• Review images, synthesize results, and prepare preliminary findings.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Adhere to professional standards.
• Support scope of practice and clinical standards.
• Assist with daily facility operations and QA measures.
• Other duties as assigned.
