Qualifications

• Completion of AMA approved ultrasound program.
• ARDMS or ARRT registered within one year of hire.
• AHA BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• NM Rad Tech license.
• One year of ultrasound experience preferred.
• Willingness to obtain additional specialties.

Responsibilities

• Reviews ultrasound orders for appropriateness.
• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures with proper equipment.
• Assesses patient needs for ultrasound procedures.
• Communicates findings to Radiologist or ordering physician.
• Verifies and discusses ultrasound exams with physicians.
• Maintains records and ensures safety and quality of exams.
• Demonstrates PACS and Meditech procedures.
• Provides instruction to students and precepts new Ultrasound Techs.
